Dover woman arrested over two-year-old girl's death

A woman has been arrested by police investigating the "suspicious" death of a two-year-old girl in Kent.

South East Coast Ambulance Service were called to De Burgh Street, Dover, at about 10:00 BST on Friday following "concerns for the child's welfare".

Kent Police said the toddler was taken to hospital but subsequently died.

A woman, 37, who is believed to be the child's mother, was arrested and released on police bail.

The force has not revealed further details of the arrest.
