Lorry driver arrested after Folkestone fatal crash

A lorry driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a 53-year-old man died at the scene of a crash in Kent.

The 42-year-old man, who was driving a foreign-registered lorry, was held after the incident in Ashford Road, Newingreen, near Folkestone.

The victim, from Hythe, died at the scene of the crash opposite Folkestone race course.

The A20 from Stone Street to Otterpool Lane was closed for several hours.

Kent Police are appealing for witnesses, particularly the drivers of four goods vehicles that were travelling from Ashford towards Cheriton.
