Kent charity delivers aid to Calais migrants
A charity based in Kent has delivered blankets, sleeping bags and clothes to Calais for distribution among migrants sleeping rough near the port.
Seeking Sanctuary collected donations after warnings of a worsening humanitarian situation in the town.
The UN Refugee Agency last month said 1,000 migrants were believed to be in Calais, with another 400 elsewhere on the northern French coast.
Police held a protest on Monday calling for more resources to help them cope.
Ben Barlow, from Seeking Sanctuary, said: "In spite of all the negativity that we sometimes experience back home, I've been really humbled and touched by the generosity of people who think: 'Whatever the rights or wrongs of the situation, these people are in need'."
