Court absconder Christopher Adjei arrested in Thanet

A man accused of attempted rape, who absconded from court while his case was being heard, has been arrested.

Christopher Adjei, 29, from Ramsgate, walked out of Canterbury Crown Court during the hearing on 18 August.

Kent Police said he was arrested in the Thanet area at about 01:00 BST.

Officers said he later appeared before Canterbury Crown Court to face an attempted rape charge and was remanded in custody. He will appear before the same court on a date to be fixed.
