A man accused of attempted rape, who absconded from court while his case was being heard, could be in Thanet, Kent Police have said.

Christopher Adjei, 29, from Ramsgate, left Canterbury Crown Court during the hearing on Monday, the force said.

Acting Det Ch Insp Jon Holl said it was possible that he was in the Thanet area.

He is accused over an alleged incident in Canterbury on 14 June.

Police have advised people not to approach Mr Adjei but to contact officers if they have information as to his whereabouts.
