Three cyclists injured in Kent A2 hit-and-run

Three cyclists have been injured in a hit-and-run, Kent Police said.

Two 24-year-old men, from Cumbria and South Derbyshire, and a 25-year-old from Cumbria, were struck on the A2 close to Bridge, near Canterbury, shortly after 22:00 BST on Tuesday.

The vehicle that hit them, believed to be a Ford, left the scene.

One cyclist was flown to Kings College Hospital and the others were taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford with non life-threatening injuries.

Part of the carriageway was closed for about two hours so that the air ambulance could land, Kent Police said.

A force spokeswoman said the Ford would be missing a black plastic wing mirror and could also be missing a fog or side light housing.

The force is appealing for witnesses.
