'Illegal immigrants' rescued by Walmer RNLI

Two suspected illegal immigrants have been rescued from a dinghy in the English Channel off Kent in the second such incident in four days.

Walmer RNLI lifeboat was launched at 15:20 BST after Dover Coastguard raised the alert. The two people were met at Dover by Border Force officials.

On Saturday eight suspected illegal immigrants were rescued after becoming stranded four miles east of Dover

A Romanian man was held on suspicion of helping illegal immigration.

Eight Afghan nationals were detained.
