Hoo peninsula speed limit reduction plan debated

A consultation on reducing the speed limit on the Hoo peninsula by almost a half is coming to an end.

Medway Council said proposals to reduce the 60mph roads to 40mph and 30mph in some places, are being debated by parish councils.

The consultation closes on Monday and if the plans are approved, new speed limit signs will be put up in March.

Phil Filmer, from Medway Council, said the changes would "make the roads safer and decrease pollution".
