Two police officers stabbed at Folkestone house

Two police officers have been stabbed while carrying out a warrant at a house in Kent.

A Kent Police spokesman said the officers suffered minor stab wounds while attending an address in St Michael's Street, Folkestone, at about 11:10 GMT.

The officers were treated in hospital for their injuries and later released.

A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in custody at Folkestone Police Station.

Chief Insp Darren Mullins said the officers were confronted by a man with a knife.

One was cut on his hand and the other on his cheek.
