Harjit Chaggar death: CCTV cars identified

The make and model of seven vehicles captured on CCTV on the day a woman was last seen in Kent have been identified.

The body of Harjit Chaggar, 69, was found two weeks after she was last seen in Magpie Hall Road, Chatham, on 2 September.

Police want to speak to the owners of the vehicles, which were seen in Magpie Hall Road between 15:59 BST and 16:02 on 2 September.

Three men have been charged with her murder.

A vehicle expert working with Kent Police has identified the seven cars:

  • Toyota Yaris, 2006-2011
  • Ford C-Max Mk1, 2003-2007
  • Volkswagen Golf Hatchback Mk 4, 1997-2004
  • Citroen C2, 2003-2008 (Most likely to be a VTS, 2004-2008)
  • Ford Fiesta Mk4, 1995-1999
  • Nissan Kubistar, 2003-2008
  • Vauxhall Astra van, 1998-2006

Kent Police believe the drivers or passengers of the car might be able to help with the investigation.

Abdul Hannan, 44, and Murshed Miah, 38, both from Maidstone, and Mohammed Liaket Islam, 28, from Gillingham, have been charged with murder and remain in custody.

A fourth man, aged 27, from Chatham, remains on bail.
