Woman charged over abduction attempt at Chertsey school

A woman in her 20s has been charged with attempted child abduction following an incident near a school.

Police said a woman tried to persuade a boy who was outside St Anne's Primary School, Chertsey, to leave with her.

She claimed to be a relative who was known to the child during the incident on Wednesday, according to officers.

A 24-year-old woman is due to appear at South East Surrey Magistrates' Court later, charged with attempted child abduction.
