Jet ski riders stranded for hours off Kent

Two people have been treated in hospital for hypothermia after their jet ski broke down, leaving them stranded off the Kent coast for four hours.

Two men, aged 30 and 20, and a boy, 15, had been riding the jet ski from the Isle of Sheppey to Southend, in Essex.

Thames Coastguard, which was alerted at 21:00 BST on Thursday, said they were wearing shorts and had no life-jackets.

Two lifeboats and the RAF rescue helicopter were involved in the rescue.
