Gillingham woman held over vehicle 'hammer' attacks

A 51-year-old woman has been arrested after dozens of vehicles were damaged in Gillingham.

Kent Police were called to Canterbury Street early on Sunday, to reports of a woman striking parked vehicles with what was described as a hammer.

Officers said it was believed 26 vehicles were damaged.

The Gillingham woman was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and was being held in custody.

Motorists who still have to report criminal damage to their vehicle have been urged to do so.
