Digger used to steal cash machine in Tenterden

A cash machine has been ripped from the wall of a supermarket by three people using a digger.

The attack in Smallhythe Road, Tenterden at 02:25 GMT on Thursday was filmed by witnesses on mobile phones, Kent Police said.

The digger had been stolen from a nearby cricket club and was abandoned at the scene after the theft.

A red Toyota Hilux truck was later found in Cranbrook road, and a green Daihatsu was also recovered by police.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the theft to contact them.
