Sandwich travel agent staff robbed by armed raiders

A woman was taken to hospital after armed raiders robbed staff at a Kent travel agents.

The attack at Thomas Cook in King Street in Sandwich took place at about 09:30 GMT.

Two men wearing high-visibility tabards threatened two members of staff with a gun and demanded money.

Both were described as black, with one taller than the other, and the men left with the cash in the direction of Short Street.

A woman taken to hospital was treated for shock, before being discharged.

Emma Staples from Thomas Cook said: "The staff are all well. They are back in the store and will be given as much support as they need."
