Missing Kent teenagers rescued by helicopter from woods

Four schoolgirls sparked a widespread search and rescue mission after they became lost in woods in Kent.

The teenagers travelled from Folkestone to Dover Priory by train at about 23:00 GMT on Friday, then walked to a wooded area near Kearsney Abbey.

They reported they were lost at about 02:15 GMT, sparking a search involving police and the Coastguard helicopter.

They were found five hours later and winched to safety before being taken to hospital suffering from the cold.
