Man charged over Gravesend restaurant diner attack

A 25-year-old man has been charged after a diner was stabbed with a fork and sprayed in the face with cleaning fluid in a Kent restaurant.

The victim, a 26-year-old man, was critically injured during an incident at The Copperfield in Gravesend on Sunday evening.

Kent Police said his condition was improving but he remained in an intensive treatment unit in hospital.

A Strood man was charged with grievous bodily harm and actual bodily harm.

He was due to appear in court via videolink on Wednesday.
