Chatham bus station motorist fines reach £500,000

Almost £500,000 has been collected in fines from motorists who illegally drive through a bus station in Kent.

Figures released by Medway Council show it has collected £483,390 from motorists driving through Chatham bus station since last November.

More than 60 drivers a day are being caught, which campaigners claim is due to inadequate signs.

The council said the bus station is clearly signed and it will continue to fine motorists.
