Swanley murder suspect: police given extra time
Police have been given extra time to question a 22-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a 23-year-old woman in Kent.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services were called to Swanley Village Road, Swanley, on Wednesday night.
A post-mortem examination has found the cause of death was haemorrhage and stab wounds to the neck.
Kent Police said the man and the woman, from Swanley, were known to each other.
Men on moped
The man was arrested after he walked into a police station at 03:00 BST on Thursday. He remains in police custody.
The woman has not been formally identified.
Police have appealed for men seen on a moped at the time of the attack, who were reported to be shouting out to passers by, to come forward.
"We would like to speak to these men, but I would stress that we don't believe they were involved in this incident," said Det Insp Gavin Moss.
