'Armed man' threatens Hythe hotel staff

A hotel was evacuated after a gunman reportedly entered the building and made threats to a member of staff.

Kent Police said the man went into the Hythe Imperial Hotel in Princess Parade, Hythe, at about 10:30 BST on Friday reportedly armed with a gun.

The building was cleared and armed officers were called to the scene.

Princess Parade was closed during a search for the man, but he was not found. No-one was injured.
