Beer mats warn Medway drinkers of illegal money lenders

Beer mats are being used in pubs in Kent to warn of the dangers of falling victim to loan sharks.

The move by Medway Trading Standards is part of a national drive to bring illegal money lenders to justice.

The mats have been distributed to pubs and bars across Medway and have contact details for anyone needing help.

Medway Council is working with the England Illegal Money Lending Team, a specialist unit set up to investigate and prosecute loan sharks.
