Man dies after assault outside Margate club Kabuki

A man who was injured in an "unprovoked assault" outside a nightclub in Margate has died in hospital.

Kent Police said the 25-year-old was attacked outside the Kabuki nightclub in Marine Gardens at 0200 BST on Saturday.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital in Margate but died on Saturday afternoon.

Kent Police said a murder investigation was under way and appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Det Ch Insp Rob Vinson said: "The victim had been out in Margate with friends on Friday night and was standing outside the Kabuki bar when he was approached by the offender who seriously assaulted him.

"At this stage it seems to have been a completely unprovoked attack."

Mr Vinson said about 30 people were standing outside the club at the time and appealed for them to come forward.
