Woman injured in timber-frame house fire in rural Kent

A woman has been taken to hospital with minor injuries following a fire which destroyed a two-storey timber-framed house in rural Kent.

About 20 firefighters tackled the blaze in Sand Lane, Frittenden, near Ashford at about 0415 BST on Sunday.

The fire service said 10 rabbits and 10 birds rescued from the house were being cared for by the RSPCA.

An investigation has begun into the cause of the fire, which was extinguished by 0700 BST.
