Two in court over street killing in Folkestone

Two teenagers have appeared in court charged with murder after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death during a brawl in Folkestone, Kent.

Fazulmaq Walizada, 18, of Folkestone, and a boy aged 17, from Ashford who cannot be named, have also been charged with violent disorder.

Both were remanded in custody by magistrates in Dover on Saturday.

Osman Shazad, 17, of Marine Terrace, Folkestone, suffered fatal wounds in the incident near his home on Monday.

The confrontation, involving more than 20 people, spilled out on to the street just before 2030 GMT.

Four people, including Mr Shazad, were taken to hospital with stab wounds.

Mr Walizada and the 17-year-old are due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday.

A total of nine people have been arrested since the incident.

Four have bailed pending further inquiries, one remains in police custody in hospital and one is custody at Folkestone police station.

Another person has been released without charge.
