Kent driver dies as car hits tree

A 30-year-old driver from Westerham died when his car hit a tree in Kent.

Emergency teams were called to the crash in Hosey Common Road, Crockham Hill, near Edenbridge, just before 2300 GMT on Wednesday.

Kent Police said the man was declared dead at the scene of the accident. The road was closed until about 0530 GMT while police investigated the crash.

Officers said no other vehicles appeared to be involved and no-one else was in the Renault Megane.

The man who died has not yet been named but his family have been told.
