Man, 18, remanded over Dover shooting

An 18-year-old teenager has appeared in court charged over the shooting of a man who was seriously injured in Dover.

Antoine Anicotte, of Salisbury Road, Dover was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

He was remanded in custody by Folkestone magistrates and is due at Canterbury Crown Court on 31 January.

The shooting, in the Frith Road area, happened near Dover Grammar School for Girls on Monday.

The injured man, 18, who suffered a single chest wound, was transferred to a London hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A 17-year-old boy also arrested following the shooting was released without charge on Tuesday.

Police said forensic tests would be carried out on a small revolver found in a house near where the shooting took place.
