Two Kent councils share work to make savings

Two Kent councils have teamed up to deliver services in an attempt to save about £2.5m over the next five years.

Dartford Borough Council and Sevenoaks District Council (SDC) will work together in four areas - revenues, benefits, audit and anti-fraud.

Councillor Brian Ramsay, SDC's cabinet member for finance, said the move would enable the council to cut back on management and support costs.

He said: "We face significant financial challenges in the coming years."

Residents can visit either council's offices to deal with their council tax or benefit inquiries, he added.
