Police said they were called to a property after a teenage house party advertised on Facebook spiralled out of control.

Kent Police said about 50 young people drinking alcohol arrived at the small terraced house at 2200 GMT on Friday after hearing about it on Facebook.

Officers said a 17-year-old girl in Cheriton had invited 20 friends.

Four teenage girls had to be escorted home by police officers while about £160 of alcohol was confiscated.

Pc Chris Stephens advised parents to supervise parties and to ensure underage teenagers did not drink alcohol.

He said: "This party has taken more than six police officers to clear up the problems, with drunken youths still being dispersed from the area up until midnight".
