Thousands affected by power cut in Rochester

Power was restored to thousands of residents in north Kent after a power cut caused by a fault on the network.

UK Power Networks said several thousand homes in Rochester lost electricity supplies at about 1710 GMT on Wednesday.

"We understand how difficult it is to be without power and would like to apologise to those customers who were affected," a spokesperson said.

Power was reconnected to all customers in stages between 1730 and 1900 GMT.
