Man on manslaughter charge after Gillingham attack

A man has been charged with manslaughter following the death of a man who suffered serious head injuries when he was assaulted in Gillingham.

Saulius Klevinskas, of Grays, Essex, died in hospital on Thursday after the attack in Balmoral Road on Saturday.

Mr Klevinskas, who was 35, was originally from Lithuania.

Ruben White, 21, of Kingswood Road, Gillingham, had been accused of causing grievous bodily harm but that was changed to manslaughter.

He was remanded in custody by Medway Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

Three other men arrested in connection with the incident have been bailed until 28 September.
