School coach crashes near Kirkburn injuring three

A coach carrying pupils from a primary school in Sheffield has collided with a lorry in East Yorkshire.

A man and two children were hurt in the crash on the A614 close to Kirkburn, near Driffield, at about 10:00 BST.

Heatons Coaches said the children were travelling from Dore Primary School in Sheffield to Filey in North Yorkshire.

Their injuries are not thought to be serious. Humberside Police said the road was closed after the incident while the vehicles were recovered.

A spokesman for Humberside Fire and Rescue Service said: "Whilst they were waiting for a replacement coach, pupils were taken back to Driffield Fire Station."

The school said they were treated to a fish and chip lunch.
