A fire has destroyed a large outbuilding at the site of a former golf course in East Yorkshire.

Twenty firefighters were called to the site of Allerthorpe Park Golf Club, near Pocklington, at about 08:00 BST.

Thick black smoke was pictured drifting over Melbourne Road and nearby land.

A Humberside Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said the tin structure contained agricultural machinery and lawnmowers. The blaze caused the building's roof to collapse.

It is not thought anyone was injured in the blaze and firefighters are damping down at the scene.
