Car manufacturer BMW says 100 jobs will be created at a £25m vehicle storage site on the south bank of the Humber.

The site, at the Able Humber Port in North Killingholme, will store up to 10,000 cars and is due to be completed by the end of 2017.

Able UK said the 4,300 sq m site where cars will be inspected and stored before going to salesrooms will be run by the GBA Group.

A nine-year contract has been signed for the site.

Peter Stephenson, executive chairman of Able UK, called the move a "major step forward" in the development of the port.

"Able Humber Port is ideally placed for the kind of facilities required by major vehicle manufacturers," he said.
