Hull hit-and-run crash: Girl 'dragged along road'

A 12-year-old girl was "dragged along a road" in a hit-and-run crash.

The girl had been crossing a road in Hull at about 19:00 GMT on Tuesday when she was knocked down by a blue car, which stopped briefly before leaving the scene.

She was taken to hospital where she was treated for injuries to her face and ankle.

Eyewitnesses to the crash in Greenwood Avenue reported the girl being "dragged along the road".

Emma Smith told the Hull Daily Mail newspaper: "As she began to cross this car swiped her completely. We heard her hit the bonnet and she was dragged along.

"The car never stopped and the girl managed to get up and came towards us."
