Former East Yorkshire councillor denies sex offence charges

A former East Yorkshire councillor has pleaded not guilty at Hull Crown Court to 10 charges of sexual offences.

Arthur Hodgson, 69, of Church Lane, Keyingham stood down as a Conservative councillor on the East Riding of Yorkshire Council in June.

Some of the alleged offences relate to girls under the age of 14 and date back to the 1980s.

Mr Hodgson was released on unconditional bail and will stand trial on 5 June 2017.
