Man dies as truck plunges into Immingham Docks

A man died when a truck plunged into the water at a port on the River Humber.

The vehicle entered the water at Immingham Docks in Lincolnshire at 08:30 GMT.

The victim, who has yet to be formally identified, was later pronounced dead. Humberside Police described the death as an "industrial incident".

An investigation into the tragedy, involving police and the Health and Safety Executive, has begun.

A spokesman for Associated British Ports said: "The entire port community in Immingham is shocked and saddened by the death of our colleague.

"Our thoughts are with his family."
