Plan to transform 'eyesore' Belton park

A £350,000 scheme to transform an "eyesore" park and picnic area has been revealed by a council.

Belton picnic area in North Lincolnshire has been described as attracting anti-social behaviour and and eyesore by the council.

Senior officials say planning permission has been sough to build a cafe, education room and play area.

The deputy leader of North Lincolnshire Council, Rob Waltham, said it would "totally transform the area".

In a statement the council said: "For many years, the eyesore has attracted complaints about anti-social behaviour.

"The plans will eradicate the problems and create a much more welcoming environment for visitors, schools and locals to use."
