Christina Spillane killing: Murder trial begins in Hull

A man killed his partner in a hotel room after accusing her of sleeping with his cousin, a trial heard.

The body of of 51-year-old Christina Spillane, also known as Christina Randell, was discovered in the Ibis hotel in Hull on 1 February.

Deland Allman, 52, of Halyard Croft, Hull denies murder but has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

The jury at Hull Crown Court heard the mother-of-two had been stabbed three times before being strangled.

Patrick Palmer, prosecuting, said Mr Allman killed his partner in a fit of anger after accusing her of having an affair with his cousin.

Mr Palmer said the couple's relationship was "marred by violence" and Ms Spillane had previously received numerous injuries, including black eyes.

He claimed Mr Allman had tried to strangle her once before.

The trial continues.
