Clacton man accused of Sheikh Hamidi murder in Grimsby

A man has appeared in court accused of the murder of a homeowner in Grimsby.

Sheikh Zubair Hamidi, 48, from Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, was found on Tuesday at the flat he owned on Freeman Street. He had been renovating the property.

A post-mortem examination revealed he died from multiple head injuries.

Junaid Hamidi, 28, of Clacton-on-Sea, was remanded in custody at Grimsby and Cleethorpes Magistrates' Court and is due to appear at Hull Crown Court on 27 October for a preliminary hearing.
