East Riding to get £3.75m for 130 affordable homes

More than 130 new affordable homes could be built in East Yorkshire by 2018, council leaders said.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council said it had received £3.75m to fund 131 new homes in Beverley, Anlaby, Kirk Ella and other parts of the East Riding.

The council said it would build 46 new homes, buy and upgrade 75, and bring 10 empty properties back into use.

The funding will come from the Homes and Communities Agency.

Councillor Symon Fraser said the council was committed to creating new affordable housing in the East Riding and had provided more than 400 new affordable homes since 2010.
