£30,000 laptop theft at college site

Thieves have stolen 140 new, boxed laptops from a locked room at a college site in East Yorkshire.

The machines, valued at more than £30,000, were taken from the St Mary's College site off Cranbrook Avenue in Hull after a door had been forced open.

Humberside Police said the laptops belonged to a building and construction company based at the location.

The Samsung Series 3 machines have 16in (42cm) screens and run Windows 7 Professional.
