Residents' war memorial campaign

A war memorial plaque, which was moved to make way for a housing development, is at the centre of a campaign by East Yorkshire residents.

The Sharp Street Roll of Honour in Hull remembers more than 100 men who signed up to fight in World War I.

It was moved when the building where it was on permanent display was redeveloped.

Residents fear it may now disappear forever.

Developers have promised to re-site the memorial, but said they could not guarantee it would return to Sharp Street.
