Post-mortem tests are due to take place this week on a man's body found in the Humber estuary, police have said.

The unidentified body was spotted on Saturday between Brough Haven and Gilberdyke, East Yorkshire, by two people in a yacht.

The family of 21-year-old Stuart Gilson, who went missing after a night out in Hull in January, were informed of the discovery.

Friends and family left tributes on Hull's Drypool Bridge over the weekend.

Humberside Police said personal property and tattoos found on the body matched those of Mr Gilson.

Hundreds of people took part in unofficial searches for Mr Gilson which were co-ordinated on Facebook.
