All 77 jobs at a Lincolnshire-based motor parts trade retailer have been saved with the sale of the troubled business.

Godfrey Automotive Parts Limited, which is based in Grimsby, went into administration nine days ago.

The business, which also employs people in Hull, Scunthorpe, York, Sheffield, Wakefield and Leeds, owed £2.5m.

The firm has been sold to the auto cleaning firm Tetrosyl Group Ltd based in Manchester, for an undisclosed sum.

Godfrey Automotive had traded from seven stores and distribution centres across the Yorkshire and Humber region with its head office and showroom in Grimsby.

It sold auto accessories, vehicle parts and tools and had a turnover of £6m.

All of the company's depots and stores remained open while it was in administration.

Rob Sadler, from administrators Begbies Traynor, said: "Godfrey Autoparts is an established and reputable independent parts retailer, and the business had every chance of thriving with the right owner and with proper funding in place."
