Man held after Hull knife point robbery

A 27-year-old man has been arrested after a Hull newsagent worker was robbed at knife point.

A man wearing a balaclava walked into Wright News, on Elmbridge Parade, on Sunday and told the female worker to open the shop's till.

Police said the man struck the woman in the back and ran off with the till when she tried to remove his mask.

The woman suffered bruising and scratches but did not attend hospital. The arrested man remains in custody.

Humberside Police have appealed for anyone with information about the robbery or anyone who saw a burgundy Ford in the area on Sunday morning to come forward.
