Man crushed to death at Scunthorpe Corus plant

A contractor has been crushed to death in an accident at the Corus steelworks in North Lincolnshire.

The man, who has not been named, was killed in a "crushing" incident involving a lorry at the plant in Scunthorpe on Saturday, the firm said.

Officers from Humberside Police and the Health and Safety Executive are investigating the incident.

Details of the dead worker's identity and how the incident occurred have not been released.

The death is the second to have occurred on the site in four months.

Thomas Standerline, 26, of Burton-upon-Stather, died after he was injured while working at the steelworks on 23 April.
