Burst main floods Redditch road and closes schools
A large water main burst and flooded a road, closing several schools.
Drivers were told to avoid the area by a roundabout near Morrisons supermarket in Redditch after water gushed on to Warwick Highway.
Roads were closed and Severn Trent was called to repair a burst pipe.
Some neighbouring schools closed for the day while repairs were carried out, but the company said at about 19:25 BST all customers' water supplies had been fully restored.
Severn Trent said earlier that water pressure could be "is lower than it normally is", but this was "perfectly normal" and it would take some time for the water pressure to build up.
The firm said on Thursday evening that the repair to the burst water pipe was ongoing but all customers would "stay on supply while this is carried out".
It added: "We'd like to thank everyone for their patience while we worked to get the supplies restored."
A spokesman for one of the affected schools, Ipsley CE RSA Academy, on Winyates Way, earlier said staff were "working to get pupils home safely".
RSA Academy Arrow Vale, Abbeywood First School, and Church Hill Middle School RSA Academy also closed.
