Plans for a new £100m campus, including halls of residence, have been announced by the University of Worcester.

It said the proposals were mostly for new halls together with supporting facilities and some new teaching space, on land by Oldbury Road and Laugherne Brook.

A public consultation is being held, with events taking place this month.

The university will submit its outline planning application to Malvern Hills District Council.

Representatives will be at the public events at Worcester Community Trust's Green Centre in Dines Green on 19 July from 15:30 BST and at Worcester's Guildhall in High Street on 20 and 21 July from 12:00 BST.

Supporting facilities such as a cafe are part of the planned scheme, called University Court, which would cost at least £100m.

Investment in new facilities has seen the university open two new campuses and 11 new buildings since 2009, a spokesman said.

The university said once the results of the consultation had been considered, it hoped to submit outline plans to Malvern Hills in the autumn.
