Boy charged over teen's canal death in Worcester
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with manslaughter following the death of another teenager in a canal.
Police went to the Bilford Road area of Worcester on Thursday evening after concerns were raised over the safety of a youth.
Sean Stevens, also 17 and from Worcester, was recovered from the canal by firefighters and taken to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The teenager will appear at Worcester Magistrates' Court later.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said a person who is thought to have jumped in the water to try to rescue Sean was also taken to hospital as a precaution.
