Car driver killed on A49 south of Hereford

A car driver has been killed in a collision with a lorry in Herefordshire.

The accident happened two miles south of Hereford on the A49 at about 11:00 GMT on Thursday.

An ambulance service spokesman said "nothing could be done to save the patient" who was confirmed dead at the scene.

The lorry driver was assessed but did not require treatment at hospital.
